Our personal recommendations for your stay in Lehde – restaurants, punt trips, shopping, cycle paths, hiking trails and places of interest in the Spreewald.

Welcome to the Spreewald

Ferien am Fließ is located right in the heart of the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve. The three listed Holiday houses Haus anno 1750, Die Scheune and Bienenhaus form a gem on their own island plot in the Spreewald village of Lehde – about an hour's drive from Berlin.

On this page you will find our personal recommendations for your stay in Lehde – restaurants, excursion tips and practical information about places we know and value ourselves. We wish you a wonderful stay!

Restaurants & Dining

From the rustic inn right on the waterway to the sophisticated castle restaurant: the gastronomy around Lehde and Lübbenau focuses on regional cuisine – Spreewald cucumbers, carp, Plinse and linseed oil with boiled potatoes are the classic dishes. Most restaurants are within walking distance or accessible by punt.

Shopping & local supplies

The nearest supermarkets are all in Lübbenau, about 3 km from Lehde – easily accessible by bike. For fresh bread and regional specialities we recommend Bäckerei Bubner and Spreewaldfleischerei Koreng.

Punt trips

A guided punt trip is as much a part of a Spreewald holiday as cucumbers are of Spreewald cuisine. An experienced punt driver silently poles your punt through the waterways – while you relax and enjoy nature, the tranquility and the history of the region. Tours last between 1.5 and 4 hours depending on the provider. Particularly beautiful: evening trips at sunset. Your personal break with Gerd Thiel from next door: phone 03542-405526.

Fireplace and winter tours with ethanol fireplace, blankets and mulled wine can also be booked.

Paddle boat, canoe & boat hire

The Spreewald has almost 1,000 km of waterways – and you can explore them yourself. All hire stations offer canoes, kayaks and rowing boats, some also paddle boats. You will receive a short briefing on site. For our guests the most convenient is the Dolzke-Insel boat hire – literally a few steps from the house.

Places of interest & excursions

The Freilandmuseum Lehde is literally next door to our property.
For longer excursions, Leipe, Slawenburg Raddusch and – a little further afield – the impressive Findlingspark Nochten are well worth a visit.

Wellness & pools

If you want more wellness besides the sauna and fireplace in the Holiday house, you will find attractive offers in the surrounding area.

Fishing

The Spreewald is a paradise for anglers. Carp, pike, zander and tench abound in the waterways.

In Brandenburg, fishing is generally permitted from the age of eight, and may be practised using two hand lines for non-predatory fish without the need for a fishing licence (fishing permit).

You must always carry the following three documents with you:

  • Fishing licence stamp (affixed to the licence card)
  • Fishing permit (authorisation from the holder of the fishing rights or the owner of the water body)
  • Valid identity card
