The Bienenhaus is our smallest and most romantic Holiday house – and bears a name with history. It was built in the 1970s and received its name from a model kit called »Bienenhaus«, after whose design it was erected. Over time, we have carefully renovated it in the typical Spreewald style.
The most striking feature is the traditional thatched roof. The Bienenhaus is not just a Holiday house, but a living piece of regional building culture.
Inside, the house offers 35 m² of cosy living area with Fireplace and open-plan kitchen, a bathroom with shower, a terrace and a sleeping loft on the first floor. It is consistently designed for two guests – quiet, intimate, without distractions.
The terrace opens onto a natural garden with views of the greenery and the adjacent Lehde Open-Air Museum. Here you can enjoy the morning with breakfast in the sun – surrounded by birdsong and the gentle babbling of the nearby waterways. The Bienenhaus is in an almost secluded location.
The Bienenhaus is only available in the summer half-year from April to All Saints' Day and additionally over Christmas until Epiphany.
Those who would like to experience the Spreewald in winter will find the perfect accommodation in our Haus anno 1750 or the Scheune – both are available all year round.

Firewood: Firewood for the Fireplace can be purchased from the property manager for a small fee – this is not included in the rental price.
The stated maximum permitted number of guests is independent of age – it therefore also includes children of all ages.
The “Bienenhaus” is only rented out in the summer half-year and from Christmas – Epiphany.
The season therefore applies from Easter or April – All Saints' Day and from Christmas – Epiphany.
The minimum stay is 5 nights. In the case of booking gaps – i.e. gaps between 2 already confirmed bookings – the Holiday house can also be rented for shorter stays of at least 2 nights. However, the booking gap must be booked in full. Booking gaps result in slightly higher daily rates, as the fixed costs such as final cleaning have to be allocated to fewer days. Check-in is 3 pm, check-out 10 am. Earlier check-in and later check-out can be arranged for a surcharge if the Holiday house's occupancy permits. Please note that enquiries for shorter stays, price discounts, for a larger number of guests than stated or for bringing pets are declined – we cannot answer these due to capacity constraints.
Please note that the town of Lübbenau/Spreewald charges a visitor's tax, which we collect with the final invoice.

Is the Bienenhaus suitable for couples or also for solo travellers?
The Bienenhaus is perfect for two guests – couples, best friends or siblings. It can also be booked by a single person. It is not suitable for more than 2 guests, as the sleeping loft only offers space for a double bed and fire safety regulations must be observed.
Is there a sauna in the Bienenhaus?
No, the Bienenhaus does not have its own sauna. If you definitely want a sauna on your holiday, we recommend the Haus anno 1750 or the Scheune – both include their own sauna in the price.
How big is the Bienenhaus really – isn't it too small?
The Bienenhaus has 35 m² of living space. For 2 guests this is completely sufficient. Guests regularly report that despite its compact size the house feels very cosy and never cramped. Very tall guests may need to be a little careful with their heads in the sleeping loft, as the building has a height that we were not allowed to change. The terrace and the garden provide additional space. Those who need a lot of space should choose the Scheune (75 m²) or the Haus anno 1750 (140 m²).
Can I cook at the Bienenhaus?
Yes. The kitchen is well equipped with induction hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, as well as crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Since there is no space for an oven, please use the grill function of the microwave.
Why can't the Bienenhaus be booked in winter?
This is for logistical reasons, which are also related to staff availability. We therefore only offer it from April to All Saints' Day and over Christmas to Epiphany. For winter holidays, the Haus anno 1750 and the Scheune are available all year round.
When is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3:00 pm, check-out until 10:00 am. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged subject to availability for a fee. If you would like to use the punt service, please contact our property manager Mr Gerd Thiel before your arrival.
