The Scheune is our second listed Holiday house and sits on the same island plot as the Haus anno 1750 – just a few steps from your own harbour. Built in the second half of the 18th century using the log construction technique typical of the Spreewald and extended until the mid-19th century, it was registered as a listed building by the State of Brandenburg in 2011. The Scheune even has its own Wikipedia entry – a rare testament to its historic significance. Further details can be found under Geschichte.
As with the Haus anno 1750, the renovation was carried out with the greatest care and in full compliance with all heritage protection requirements. The result is a Holiday house that combines historic charm and modern comfort in a truly unique way: solid timber beams, original log walls and solid wooden floors meet modern amenities such as underfloor heating, a kitchen with oven and induction hob and a streaming-capable 4K TV.
With 75 m², the Scheune offers space for up to 4 guests. On the ground floor you will find the large living area with open fireplace and kitchen, the bathroom with sauna and a small bedroom. On the first floor is the open sleeping loft – a highlight that gives the house its special character.
What sets the Scheune apart from all the others: it is only 1.5 metres from your own private harbour. In the morning you can board your canoe or paddle boat straight from the breakfast table. You are also welcome to moor your own boat on our property. The Spreewald begins right on your doorstep.
Many guests report that the Scheune radiates an exceptionally generous atmosphere – thanks to its open-plan layout and light-filled rooms. The Scheune is available all year round and, with its sauna and fireplace, is especially cosy in winter.

Firewood: Firewood for the fireplace can be purchased via the property manager for a small fee – this is not included in the rental price.
The maximum permitted number of guests stated is independent of age – it therefore also includes children of any age.
Peak season applies from Easter / April – All Saints' Day and from Christmas – Epiphany.
The minimum stay is 5 nights in peak season and 3 nights in off-peak season. For booking gaps – i.e. gaps between existing bookings – the Holiday house can also be rented for shorter stays of at least 2 nights. However, the respective booking gap must be booked in full. Slightly higher daily rates apply for booking gaps, as fixed costs such as the final cleaning have to be spread over fewer days. Check-in is 3:00 pm, check-out 10:00 am. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged for an extra charge, subject to availability of the Holiday house. Please refrain from enquiries for shorter stays, discounts, for a larger number of guests than stated or for bringing pets – we cannot answer these due to capacity reasons.
Please note that the city of Lübbenau/Spreewald charges a visitor's tax, which we collect with the final invoice.

Who is the Scheune particularly suitable for?
The Scheune is ideal for couples and small families of up to 4 guests who value historic flair, closeness to nature and a special atmosphere. The open sleeping loft and the solid timber beams make it a unique retreat. If you need more space or a third bedroom, you should consider the Haus anno 1750.
How close is the harbour really?
Your private harbour is literally 1.5 metres from the front door. You can moor your canoe or paddle boat right at the house. Punt hire and guided punt trips can be booked in Lübbenau and directly in Lehde.
Is the Scheune still modern despite being a listed building?
Yes. The renovation combines the original historic fabric with modern comfort: underfloor heating, a fully equipped kitchen with oven, induction hob and dishwasher, a streaming-capable 4K OLED TV and a sauna. Heritage protection applies to the external appearance and the load-bearing structures – inside the house is fully at a modern comfort level.
Can children sleep in the sleeping loft?
Yes. The sleeping loft is accessible via a staircase and offers space for two guests. It is well suited for older children or a second couple. For small children we recommend the bedroom on the ground floor; a travel cot (without sleeping bag) is included in the price.
Is there a washing machine in the Scheune?
No, the Scheune does not have its own washing machine. This is only available in the Haus anno 1750. For longer stays, a launderette is accessible in Lübbenau.
Can the Scheune also be booked in winter?
Yes, the Scheune is available and heated all year round. With underfloor heating and the fireplace it is also very cosy in winter. When the waterways freeze over in deep winter, ice skates can be unpacked – an unforgettable experience.
Can I book the Scheune together with the Haus anno 1750 or with the Bienenhaus?
Yes. All the houses are on the same plot and can be booked at the same time. This is ideal for larger groups, family reunions or celebrations. Feel free to contact us directly if you would like to combine the houses.
When is check-in and check-out?
