The »Haus anno 1750« is our largest holiday home and sits right on the main waterway of Lehde – the heart of the Spreewald village. Built in the 18th century using the log and solid construction method typical of the Spreewald, it is now a listed building just like the whole village.
Between 2012 and 2013 the house was fully renovated with great care. All heritage protection requirements were sensitively implemented. The result: historic flair meets contemporary comfort. Solid wooden floorboards and a beamed ceiling give the house its warm, distinctive character – complemented by underfloor heating, a fully equipped kitchen with oven and induction hob, plus a streaming-capable 4K OLED TV.
At 140 m² there is space for up to 6 guests. The ground floor holds the generous living room with an open tiled stove, the fully fitted kitchen, the conservatory, one bedroom and the terrace directly on the water. Upstairs you'll find two further bedrooms and the second bathroom with sauna.
What makes the house so special: every living room and bedroom enjoys a direct view onto the water. In the morning you can watch the punts gliding past from the terrace. In the evening, the private sauna rounds off your holiday perfectly.
The German Tourism Association awarded the house 5 stars in 2013 – the highest rating for holiday homes in Germany. This places the house in the absolute top segment of the region.
The house is available all year round, making it ideal for any travel date: the blooming Spreewald in spring, the punting season in summer, the golden autumn light over the waterways – or the silent winter landscape with sauna and log fire.

The maximum permitted number of guests stated is independent of age – it therefore also includes children of all ages.
The minimum stay is 5 nights during peak season and 3 nights during off-peak season. In the case of booking gaps – including gaps between existing bookings – the holiday home can also be rented for shorter stays of at least 3 nights. However, the respective booking gap must be booked in full. Booking gaps result in slightly higher daily rates, as fixed costs such as final cleaning have to be spread across fewer days. Check-in is at 3 pm, check-out at 10 am. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged for an additional fee, subject to the holiday home's occupancy. Please note that we are unable to respond to enquiries for shorter stays, price reductions, a larger number of guests than stated or for bringing pets – we cannot accommodate these due to capacity reasons .
Please note that the town of Lübbenau/Spreewald charges a visitor's tax, which we collect with the final invoice.

Is the Haus anno 1750 suitable for families with children?
Yes, it is particularly well suited. At 140 m² with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, the house offers sufficient space even for larger families. A travel cot and high chair are included in the rental price. Please note: The property is situated directly on the water, so children should be supervised.
Can the house be booked for 6 adults?
Yes. The Haus anno 1750 can be booked for a maximum of 6 guests – adults and children combined. The three bedrooms each offer a double bed, so there is space for up to 6 sleeping guests.
How far is the house from the centre of Lehde and from the nearest shops?
The house is located in the middle of the village of Lehde, directly on the main waterway. The Lehde Open-Air Museum can be reached within a few minutes' walk. The nearest supermarket is in Lübbenau, approx. 3 km away. For your arrival and shopping trips, use your reserved parking space at the Bauernschänke.
Can the sauna be used every day?
Yes. The sauna belongs exclusively to your holiday home and is available to you free of charge throughout your entire stay – every day, at any time.
Is firewood provided and does it cost extra?
Firewood for the tiled stove can be purchased for a small fee from the property manager. It is not included in the rental price.
How is the house heated in winter?
The Haus anno 1750 can be heated all year round and has underfloor heating as well as a tiled stove in the living room. Heating costs are fully included in the rental price.
How do I get my luggage to the house – can I drive right up to it?
Your parking space at the Bauernschänke is approx. 250 metres from the house. From there, you can carry your luggage on foot (approx. 5–8 minutes) over a small bridge to the holiday home, or you can be taken directly to the house by punt for a small fee. The punt transfer is a lovely start to your holiday – please let us know if you need help arranging this.
When are check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3:00 pm, check-out by 10:00 am. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged subject to availability and for an additional fee. If you would like to use the punt service, please contact our property manager Mr Gerd Thiel on 03542-445526 before your arrival.

The barn is entered as an individual monument in the state monument list by the state of Brandenburg. Associated with this: strict requirements for the planned renovation.
2012–13
Complete listed-building-compliant renovation with support from the EU-LEADER programme. The house is fully restored from the ground up – with the most modern comforts while preserving all historical elements.
2013
The German Tourism Association (DTV) awards the Haus anno 1750 its highest category: 5 stars.
Listed building protection – what this means
Renovating a listed building is a great responsibility. Every screw, every material, every colour must be coordinated with the monument conservation authority. The result for our guests: you stay in a building whose substance has been authentically preserved – not in a new build with a retro look.
EU-LEADER funding
The renovation was funded as part of the EU-LEADER programme for rural development. Without this support, the complex listed-building-compliant restoration would not have been possible.
